The Sarala Birla Academy
The school has classes from Grades V-X and will commence Grade
XI in 2007-08.
The school is affiliated to the CISCE (The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi) as well as CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) offering IGSCE and A Levels. The school is a registered examination centre for both CISCE and CIE. Students will prepare for either the ICSE or IGCSE in Grades IX and X and for either ISC or Cambridge A Levels in Grades XI and XII. We intend to offer the International Baccalaureate from 2009 onwards.
Sarala Birla Academy will provide two options for students studying in senior classes. The ISC and Cambridge A levels will be offered and students and their families can select the syllabus option that meets their needs. The school will as always offer support, advice and assistance in this important decision. Students will need to select one of these options during Grade X.
Academic year
• Term I 1 June — 30 September
• Term II 15 November — 31 March
• Autumn break 1 October — 14 November
• Summer break 1 April — 31 May
The admission procedure
• Admission will be granted in grades V,VI,VII,VIII, IX and XI
• The registration of students for admissions will stop a fortnight prior to the admission test
• The registration fees are Rs.3,000/- (Rupees three thousand only)
• Test date: Last Sunday of January
• Test centers: Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore
• Every child will have to appear for the entrance exam followed by an interview to complete the
prerequisites for admission.
• The prospectus can be obtained from the school on request.
• The admission test will examine your child's practical skills and proficiency in English and Mathematics. It will be held on the third Sunday in February each year in designated centres throughout the country
• The results of the written test will be declared by end of February
• The written test will have a weightage of 70 per cent and the interview 30 per cent
• A three-member committee, led by the principal will interview the candidates who qualify in the written test.
• The parents of these candidates will also be interviewed
• Final results will be declared in the month of March
• Admission formalities will be completed by end of April

• Four copies of the child's latest, passport size (colour) photograph with the negative
• Transfer certificate from the previous school (original)
• Attested copy of the last report / marks card
• Indemnity bond (format provided by the school)
• Medical form (format provided by the school)
