CAT 2009 - Common Admission Test

The Indian Institutes of Management conducts a Common Admission Test (CAT) every year. It is a National level entrance exam - a gateway to top management institutes. The test is conducted to secure admission for the management programs of IIMs seven business schools. It is usually held on the third Sunday of November. A large number of students prepare for the test to secure admission in the best business schools. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), considered to be the most prestigious B-schools of India. It is an entrance exam for students who want to pursue Post Graduate level Management Degree from world renowned IIM’s. Performance in Common Admission Test or CAT, followed by Group Discussions and Personal Interviews, serves as the basis for admission. Apart from the IIM's, a candidate can take admission in many other business schools with a CAT score.

The CAT paper has traditionally been a 120 - minute test. The questions in the CAT paper are generally not very difficult but there is always an exceptionally high emphasis on the speed required to solve the questions in the paper.
