Joint Entrance Examination for Admission to Master of Computer Application (MCA) Course, JECA - 2007

Admission to MCA course offered by the different Government/Private Engineering Colleges, Universities and Institutes of the State of West Bengal during the academic session 2007-2008 is open to candidates who are Indian citizens and who have either passed or are appearing in the Bachelor’s degree final examination in any discipline from any recognized university with Mathematics and/or Statistics as one of the Subjects in 10+2+3 pattern subject to the condition that they have to appear for a Written Test conducted by the

The written test will be held on Sunday, the 27th MAY, 2007.
This admission to MCA course will be governed by the Reservation policy of the State Government. There is no restriction regarding age of the candidates.

Application Form: Candidate intending to appear in the said Joint Entrance Examination-2007 shall have to apply in a prescribed form which will be available from 07.03.2007 to 07.04.2007 from the Branches of United Bank of India at Bardhaman (Station Rd. Br.),Berhampur, Bolpur, Chinsurah, Durgapur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalyani, Kharagpur, Malda, Purulia, Siliguri, Tamluk and Kolkata & Howrah – College Street, Jadavpur, Shyambazar, Salt Lake (Mayuk Bhavan) and B.E. College Extn. Counter between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on all working days and between 10 a.m. and 12 noon on SATURDAYS (except Holidays and Sundays) on payment of Rs.350.00 (Rupees three hundred fifty only) in cash. Application form once purchased cannot be returned or replaced.

The forms may also be obtained from the Office of the Board only through Postal request by sending a Demand Draft of Rs.350/- (three hundred and fifty) payable to ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board at Howrah along with a self-addressed envelope (26 cm x 13 cm) affixing postal stamp of Rs.40/- so as to reach on or before 30th March, 2007.

Submission: The duly filled in application form has to be sent in the printed envelop supplied with the application form by Speed Post only so as to reach the Office of the Board by 16.04.2007. There is no provision for selling or receiving of Application Form with late fee from the Board Office.

The Board will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination called JECA-2007 as per following programme :

Enrolment: After receipt of duly filled-in prescribed application form by the Board, an Admit Card will be sent to each applicant informing his/her Examination Centre of the Joint Entrance Examination and the Enrolment Number. In case the applicant does not receive the Admit Card by 21.5.2007 he/she should contact personally with this Board along with relevant documents of submission of application form with the attested copy of photograph for procurement of Duplicate Admit Card from 22.5.2007 to 25.5.2007 between 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. It should be noted that in case of loss of original Admit Card after the said Admission Test, Duplicate Admit Card may be issued on payment of Rs.25/- (twenty five) only by CASH. The candidate must submit an application addressed to the Controller of Examinations of the Board to this effect with the original copy of F.I.R. lodged at the Local Police Station and a colour passport-size photograph (without attestation).

Zone of Examination: The examination will be held simultaneously at the following Zones provided there are sufficient no. of candidates at the Zones.

No refund of Enrolment Fee is admissible if the candidate does not appear in the Joint Entrance Examination.

The applicant should indicate a second choice of Zone of Examination. The allotment of zone and examination centre is fully at the discretion of the Board subject to availability of sufficient number of candidates in a centre. Any change made by the Board is final and no request for changing of the zone/centre of examination will be entertained under any circumstances.

It should be noted that the Board is in no way responsible for admission of students to different Universities/Institutions. The Board only provides the merit list of the admission test and the final selection rests with the concerned University/Institution. The Board neither publishes nor communicates result to any individual applicant. The merit list will be released on Website – jexab.becs.ac.in There is no provision for post-publication scrutiny or review and hence the Board will not entertain any such application.
